Ever had one of those weeks that just seems to fly by? In 1752, Great Britain decided to abandon the old Julian calendar in favor of the more accurate Georgian calendar. Because of this change, September 3 changed into September 14, thus erasing 11 days from Great Britain’s history. People protested this change for the next few days, believing that 11 days had just been stolen from their lives.

According to most people, the Wall of China is so big it can be seen from space. It turns out, however, that it really can’t. In fact, no man made object can be seen from space. According to NASA, seeing the Great Wall of China from the moon would be like looking at a single strand of human hair from a distance of two miles. They will admit that you can see the Great Wall from a low orbital distance of 200 miles. However, it must be perfect conditions, you have to have perfect vision, and be willing to look for something that is the same color as the ground, and probably as thin as a pencil!
